Yearbar

Delete your Yearbar account

Last updated

The short version

  • This page is for Yearbar, the yearly goal tracker by John Limos, on Android, iPhone and the web.
  • You can delete your account yourself in the app at any time, or email us and we’ll do it for you.
  • Deleting removes your account, goals, check-ins, notes and photos for good. It can’t be undone.
  • It doesn’t cancel a subscription. Cancel that first (see Subscriptions).

1. Delete it in the app

This works the same on Android, iPhone and the web (app.yearbar.app):

  1. Open Yearbar and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. In the Account card, tap Account settings.
  4. Tap Delete my account.
  5. Tap Yes, delete my account to confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away, and the app signs you out and clears the board from that device.

2. Ask us by email

If you no longer have the app or can’t sign in, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Yearbar account”.

  • Send it from the email address on your account, so we know the request is yours. If you signed in with Apple and chose “Hide my email”, send it from the Apple ID email that address forwards to and tell us you used Sign in with Apple.
  • We may ask one question to confirm it’s you before deleting anything.
  • We’ll delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and email you when it’s done.

Never used an account? Then there’s nothing for us to delete: without an account, your board lives only on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing the site’s data in your browser removes it.

3. What we delete

Right away, when the account is deleted:

  • Your account: email address, sign-in details and any linked Google or Apple sign-in.
  • Your board: goals, check-ins, notes, checklists, milestones, rewards and key dates.
  • Photos backed up to the cloud (Pro).
  • Your profile: optional details like profession and age range, settings, XP, level, streak and recap chapters, plus the dates of your paid Pro periods.
  • Your share in benchmarks: your goals stop counting in “people like you” groups.

We also ask PostHog, our analytics provider, to delete the usage events and error reports linked to your account.

4. What we keep, and for how long

  • Backups: copies in our database provider’s backups disappear within about 30 days as the backups roll over. We don’t restore deleted accounts from them.
  • Billing records: purchases made on the web are handled by Polar, and in the apps by Apple or Google. They keep records of the purchase (not your goals) as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Bug reports and feedback you sent from the app: kept up to 2 years, but no longer linked to your account. If you typed an email address into one and want it removed, tell us.
  • Waitlist sign-ups: kept separately, until launch plus 6 months or until you unsubscribe. Ask us and we’ll remove yours too.
  • Photos stored only on your phone (free plan) were never uploaded to us. They stay in your phone’s photo library if you saved them there.

More detail is in the privacy policy.

5. Subscriptions

  • Bought on Android: cancel in Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  • Bought on iPhone: cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Bought on the web: cancel first in Profile → Plan → Manage billing, then delete your account. Or email us and we’ll cancel it for you.

Uninstalling the app doesn’t cancel a subscription either.

6. Clear your data, keep the account

If you want a fresh start without losing your account, use Profile → Account → Account settings → Clear your data. It removes your goals, check-ins, notes, photos and XP but keeps your sign-in, plan and settings.
